Inter Milan midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah is set to make his first appearance for the senior national team, Black Stars, since 2014 after being invited for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Kenya.
The 29-year-old is part of a 21-man squad put together by head coach Kwesi Appiah for next month's assignment in Nairobi.
Asamoah's return brings to an end his four years self-imposed exile from Black Stars duty after turning down a series of invitations citing injuries.

Meanwhile, 28-year-old William Owusu has been rewarded with a maiden call-up. The striker has impressed since cementing his place in the Royal Antwerp starting eleven, scoring seven times in Belgium top-flight last season and making a strong start to the new campaign.
However, Appiah did not invite skipper Asamoah Gyan as well as Andre and Jordan Ayew while Levante striker Emmanuel Boateng is ruled out due to injury with Majeed Waris taking his place.

The team will camp in Ethiopia before leaving for Kenya for the game slated for September 8th.
The Black Stars sit top of Group F following a 5-0 win over Ethiopia in their opening game in Kumasi.
