Nine vehicles were involved in road crashes during the Easter festivities at Kwahu, in the Eastern Region.
Ten people including minors sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the Kwahu government hospital. No life was lost.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Albert Deletsa, who is Nkawkaw Divisional Commander of the Motor Traffic and Transport Unit of Ghana Police Service, made this known to Ghana News Agency on Wednesday saying seven private cars and two commercial vehicles were involved in the accident.
A car belonging to Ms Susana Mensah, former Deputy Regional Minister during the Kufuor era was part of the accident vehicles.
DSP Deletsa said 10 motor bike riders were also arrested during an operation but six were released later while four unregistered ones were impounded. Owners of those vehicles are being processed for court.
In another development, Mpraeso Police have arrested eight young men for possessing dry leaves suspected to be India hemp.
They appeared before the Nkawkaw Circuit Court presided over by Mr Kweku Osei. Their pleas were not taken and will reappear on April 8.
Meanwhile the leaves has been sent to the Police Forensic Laboratory for examination.
