Labour Minister Haruna Iddrisu says there will soon be releases from the Finance Minister to pay allowances of striking members of the Judicial Workers Staff Association of Ghana.
While admitting there has been a delay in the payment of the allowances the minister told Joy News the workers were "impatient" and had "no reason to declare an industrial action."
Court activities across the county have been disrupted following the strike declared by the judicial workers, Tuesday.
The workers are demanding payment for their allowances which have been in arrears for months.
The President of the Association Alex Nartey said all attempts to get government to commit to the payment of the allowances have proved futile.
According to him several meetings between the association and government have been deadlocked and the workers have no choice but lay down their tools.
The strike is having devastating toll on court activities across the country.
Joy News correspondents across the country have reported how the strike has left judges, lawyers and clients all stranded.
But Labour Minister in an interview with Dzifa Bampoh said government is dealing with the issue.
He expressed surprise that the workers declared a strike shortly after the ministry met with them on Tuesday even though issues about their allowances and a proposal for improved conditions of services had been thoroughly discussed.
He hinted the Ministry of Finance had made some releases and the aggrieved workers will soon receive their allowances.
Haruna Iddrisu also applauded the efforts by the Judges and Magistrates to resolve the impasse to have the agrieved workers return to work.
