A retired apostle of The Church of Pentecost, Francis Ofori-Yeboah has paid glowing tributes to lay leaders in churches, specifically the Church of Pentecost charging them to remain faithful and exemplary. He made this call at the launch of his latest book “Titus: the excellent leader”.
In the 152-paged book, the retired apostle underscored how instrumental Titus was to the ministry of apostle Paul despite being a lay leader.
“Paul’s epistle was meant to guide Titus as he was sent to Crete, an ancient island in Europe where the lives of Christians were characterised by lies, laziness, immoral acts, doctrinal imbalances and a detachment from spiritual truth” a situation the retired apostle sadly notes mirrors some Christians in Ghana today.

Apostle Paul’s epistle to Titus, a lay leader converted to the faith through his ministry, therefore “presents today’s Christian leaders’ rich theological insights, pastoral counselling and timeless truths applicable to the present generation” one he notes aligns with the 2025 theme of the Church that is “living a life worthy of my calling”.
Apostle Ofori Yeboah dedicated chapter 11 of the book to celebrate lay leaders who were instrumental in his 45 years in active ministry urging ordained ministers to work closely with lay leaders as they are critical to the growth of the church through godly leadership.

He also called on lay leaders to emulate Titus and work actively with ministers in the five-fold ministry to fulfil the Great Commission.
In a brief exhortation on excellence, Aps. Ekow Badu Wood (Rtd.) commended the author for “adding scholarship to his apostolic ministry” and digging forth doctrinal truths preached from pulpits of old”. He remarked that excellence is a quality one cannot retire from if one desires to remain relevant.

He appealed to all Christians both in the laity and leadership to pursue excellence whatever their calling may be as was demonstrated by the author Aps. Francis Ofori Yeboah.
A former General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Aps. Dr. Alfred Koduah (Rtd.) endorsed the book describing Titus as God’s man for difficult assignments. He observed that Paul dispatched Titus to Crete over Timothy as the former was tough compared to the timid latter.
Despite his resilience, tact and wisdom, Aps. Dr. Koduah (Rtd.) underscored the need for Paul to coach Titus through the epistle. He praised the detailed exploration of the epistle by Aps. Francis Ofori Yeboah (Rtd.) and recommended it highly to all ministers and lay leaders in the Christian faith.

The book launch attracted the presence of former Chairman of The Church of Pentecost Aps. Prof. Opoku Onyinah (Rtd.) and his spouse Mrs Grace Opoku Onyinah, Prophet B. A & Mrs. Adobah (Rtd.), Prophet J. O Amaniampong (Rtd.), Aps. Dr. Brigadier General B.G Kumi Woode, Pastor George Osei Asiedu and other dignitaries from the church public.
