Chief of Staff at the Presidency, Julius Debrah, has underscored the importance of strong national values, integrity and collective responsibility as essential pillars for Ghana's sustainable development.

Speaking at the National Development Conference organised by The Church of Pentecost, Mr Debrah described the event as a timely opportunity for national reflection on the principles that should shape the country's development agenda.

He said he was honoured to join the leadership of the Church and distinguished traditional leaders at the conference, where he conveyed the warm greetings and commendation of President John Dramani Mahama for what he described as a significant national initiative.

Mr Debrah stressed that the progress of any nation could not be measured solely by economic growth and infrastructure development, but also by the values upheld by its citizens and institutions.

According to him, Ghana's true advancement depends on the character of its people, the integrity of its public institutions, and the commitment of leaders to serve with honesty, accountability and responsibility.

"As Ghana continues to pursue sustainable development, the role of institutions such as the Church and Traditional Authorities remains indispensable," he said.

He noted that religious and traditional institutions serve as custodians of the country's values, culture and social cohesion, adding that their partnership with government is crucial to building a nation founded on peace, unity and shared responsibility.

Mr Debrah commended the Chairman and leadership of The Church of Pentecost for convening the National Development Conference, describing it as an important platform for dialogue and national reflection.

He emphasised that achieving the Ghana citizens aspire to requires the collective efforts of all sectors of society, guided by a renewed commitment to integrity, selfless service and the common good.
