Liberty Professionals posited a convincing 2-0 win over visiting Wa All Stars in their Week 27 Glo Premiership encounter at the Carl Reindorf Park, Dansoman on Sunday.
A goal in each half from Guinean-import Capi Foda and Togolese Zakari Moro was all the Dansoman-based lads needed to keep alive their ambitions of finishing among the top four clubs.
The game was closely contested with Liberty having the upper hand in the first session with All Stars the better in possession in the second half.
With left-back Kwabena Twumasi and Khalif Alhassan making their first start for the hosts, both teams laboured in search of their rhythm.
Liberty went up on the ninth minute through Foda who slammed home after All Stars defender Bright Addai had gifted him with the ball following a misunderstanding with his goalie Robert Dabuo.
The visitors however made no serious attempt at goal whilst Liberty wasted several scoring opportunities to increase their goal tally.
All Stars resumed the second half strongly but lacked the cutting edge upfront to cause any havoc whilst Liberty were dangerous on the offensive.
During one of Liberty's moves on 58 minutes, Togolese-import Moro connected home from a Richard Kissi cross from the left flank.
Kissi was denied a goal by the post in his quest to get his name on the score cards with a close range effort in the dying embers of the game to end the game in their favour.
