The fight for promotion from the second tier league to the premiership began over the weekend with eleven former premier league sides bent on making quick returns.
In Zone 1B, Union Rovers held Tano Bofoakwa to a goalless game; BA United drew 1-1 with Universal Stars, In Zone 2A, Gold stars thrashed Minestars 3-1, Zone 2B saw Windy Professionals pipping Hasaacas, Sekondi Eleven Wise managed a 1-1 draw with Tarkwa United whiles Vipers beat Metro Stars by a lone goal.
In Zone 3B, Okwahu United drew 0-0 with Tema Youth at the Nkawkaw Park, Red Bull Academy shocked Zaytuna by 2-1 at the Aflao Park, King Solomon thrashed Tema All Stars by 4-0, Pure Joy beat new entrants Rehoboth by a lone goal.
In Zone 3A Great Olympics suffered a 2-1 defeat to Inter Allies, D’ International handed Sporting Mirren a 2-0 defeat while Tete Atenpong beat Nania FC 1-0.
