Work is set to begin on the construction of a 500-seater multi-purpose youth centre at Mamponteng in the Kwabre East Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
It will be second of such facilities to be established after the one in Nyinahin in the Atwima Mponua District.
Chief Executive Officer of National Youth Authority, Sylvester Tetteh advised the youth to make proper use of the facility when it is completed.

The proposed Mamponteng Youth Centre project is estimated to cost GHS2.8 million.
The project forms part of the government’s agenda to create jobs and empower the youth through sports and infrastructure development.
A FIFA-standard football pitch, an eight-lane athletic track, tennis, basketball and handball courts and a gym are some components of the project.

The rest are ICT, entrepreneurship and counseling centres as well as a restaurant.
The project is expected to be completed in five months.
Earlier, the Youth Authority CEO and his entourage called on Chief of Mamponteng, Barima Saasi Ayeboafo, to brief him about the project.
Mr Tetteh told the chief the authority seeks to create an enabling environment through infrastructure for the development of national athletes and entrepreneurs.
Member of Parliament of the area, Francisca Oteng Mensah, who chairs the National Youth Authority Board, expressed delight at the commencement of the project.
