Mrs. Faustina Marry Addington, presiding over the Adjabeng Magistrate's Court Two, sentenced Atinyo Freeman, 19, to a fine of GHC120.00 for unlawful entry into the Liberty Avenue Junior High School, his former school.
Freeman, who pleaded not guilty, would in default be jailed three months in hard labour.
On a second charge of stealing, he was granted a GHC4,000 bail with two sureties. He pleaded not guilty for stealing items belonging to the school and would re-appear on November 9, 2010.
Prosecuting, Inspector Charity Dery, said on September 29, this year, when the school re-opened, the head teacher detected that some items from school were missing.
These included a one table top fridge, valued at GHC250, four student mattresses valued at GHC200, a weighing scale worth GHC150 and two sets of bed sheets and pillow cases valued at GHC24.
The rest of the missing items are two ceiling fans valued at GHC100, three rubber containers valued at GHC25 and assorted drugs from the schools' infirmary, worth GHC300.
Inspector Dery said that during police investigations Atinyo admitted the offence of stealing and led the police to his room where the fridge and one of the mattresses were retrieved.
When the judge asked him of his version, he said he only stole the fridge and the weighing scale.
