Kofi Mawuli, a palm wine tapper at Agona Fawonmanye, in the Central Region, has been arrested by the police for allegedly butchering his 42-year-old wife without provocation.Ms Yaa Agbeko is receiving treatment at the Agona Swedru Government Hospital following multiple cutlass wounds inflicted on her.Speaking to journalists at her bed side, Madam Agbeko, said she and her husband were accompanied by her mother to the farm at Fawomanye, near Agona Kwanyako on last Thursday morning, November 26.She said after uprooting cassava and harvesting palm fruits and were returning home, her husband started butchering her.Ms Agbeko said her mother raised the alarm, attracting people to the scene, who rushed her to hospital. Her husband however fled into the bush.Mawuli was however arrested later at his hideout at Gyasikrom and placed in police custody.
