A man believed to be in his early 70s and a father of three on Wednesday committed suicide by hanging in Tema Community One site one. The man, whose name was only given as Tetteh hanged himself with a drying rope at about 0830 hours. A friend of the deceased who went to visit him saw him hanging with a plastic chair beside him and raised an alarm. Neighbours of the deceased said that Tetteh was earlier seen at a drinking spot taking in local gin (akpeteshi). A lady claimed she saw him holding a rope some few minutes before his death and said "I even greeted him with the slogan 'one will die' and he responded 'one will get hurt'.
