A 34-year old security man who allegedly stabbed his neighbour in the neck after accusing him of his involvement in his brother's death has been granted 60 million cedis bail with a surety to be justified when he appeared before a circuit court at Cape Coast.
Alidu Issah pleaded not guilty to causing harm and is to reappear on Wednesday February 28.
Chief inspector Augustine Amonoo, prosecuting told the court, presided over by Beresford Acquah that both the accused and the complainant live at Mankessim.
He alleged that sometime in January this year, the complainant was on his way to buy food at dawn, when he met Issah who accused him of being among a group of people who killed his brother some years back, but the complainant denied the accusation.
Chief Inspector Amonoo also alleged that Issah who was then wielding a knife attempted to stab the complainant in the stomach but failed and later stabbed him in the neck resulting in a deep cut.
He said Issah then dragged his victim to the police station and reported that he had been beaten by the complainant, but upon seeing the complainant's injury, the police rather issued him with a medical form to attend hospital where he was admitted for four days, while Issah was later arrested.
