A Circuit Court in Takoradi, on Tuesday granted GHC 5,000 bail to Stephen Bukari, 31, for allegedly stealing rubber lumps belonging to the Ghana Rubber Estate Limited (GREL).
The accused, who pleaded not guilty to the charge, would re-appear at court on October 26 this year.
Police Inspector Juliana Essel-Dadzie told the court that on September 29 this year, complainant, Paul Asiedu, a field manager of GREL, undertook patrol at the plantation of the company.
The Prosecution said Asiedu saw the accused in a KIA truck loaded with a quantity of rubber cup lump bearing GREL identification marks.
Insp. Essel-Dadzie said Asiedu stopped the truck that was being driven by Cobbina Afful and reported the case to Samuel Yaw Berko, Operational Manager of GREL, who identified the lumps as belonging to GREL.
