The Chiefs and people of Ajumako Mando in the Central Region have appealed to the government and other stakeholders in education to assist them complete a community Kindergarten and a library project they are undertaking.
Nana Kweku Afful X, the Odikro of the town said this when addressing a durbar and a fund raising in aid of the projects to mark their annual Akwanbo festival on Wednesday.
The celebration of the festival was under the theme "Donate generously to develop a village child".
According to him an amount of Two hundred and forty two million cedis (240 million cedis) have so far been spent on the projects, being undertaking through self-help and communal labour.
Nana Afful X, expressed gratitude to the District Assembly and the Member of Parliament for the area, for donating 200 bags of cement and eight packets of roofing sheets towards the projects.
He advised the youth to refrain from immoral activities like pre-marital sex, drug abuse and disrespect to authority and the elderly.
Nana Afful commended the Assembly members and the Unit Committees for their good leadership role towards the development of the town.
The District Chief Executive for Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam, Mr. Kenneth Obrempong was happy about the prevailing peace in the area and urged the people to sustain it to enhance the development of the area.
He said the assembly would ensure that projects
are completed by the end of the year to facilitate quality education in the district and appealed to parents to take advantage of the capitation grant and the school feeding programme to send their children to school.
He urged the people to register with the Health Insurance Scheme to enable them to access free medical care at the hospital.
