Maritzburg United chairman Farook Kadodia aims to appoint Steve Komphela head coach of the club before Wednesday.
Larsen was fired last month after picking up five points from nine games at the helm following his return to United from Bloemfontein Celtic in mid-October.
"Yes, we are interested to sign Steve Komphela," Kadodia confirmed to KickOff.com.
"We hope to finalise the deal before Wednesday."
