A 34-year-old businessman is already lacing his boots in readiness to contest the Bolga-East seat in the Upper East Region which is currently occupied by Former Deputy Attorney General, Dr Dominic Ayine.

This seat was carved out from the Bolga constituency in 2012 and has since been one of the safe seats of the NDC with Dr Dominic Ayine being the first MP.

However, Mathew Amoah who is a businessman has surfaced in the constituency mobilising the grassroots in preparedness for the 2024 general elections under the ticket of the NPP.

His activities have gained the attention of party leadership of the NPP in the Upper East Region and considerations have been made for him to go unopposed.

Mr. Amoah is seen as a candidate to possibly break the power draught of the NPP in that constituency as he has the financial wherewithal and social capital to go into the elections.

He is optimistic about being the game changer for the NPP and has already led community-based projects in an attempt to gain their support.

It appears the constituents are already buying into his message as they poured out in their numbers during a health walk he organized during the weekend.

He used the opportunity to assure the people of Bolga-East of better leadership with capacity building and employment for the youth under his tenure while calling for unity within the NPP as it prepares to go into the internal and subsequent general elections.

Meanwhile, Former Deputy Attorney General and incumbent Member of Parliament for Bolga-East Constituency, Dr. Dominic Ayine has a contender to face in the upcoming parliamentary primaries as the NDC closes nominations.
