A financial institution operating under the name ROGAI Micro Finance in Takoradi has locked up its offices and bolted with clients’ savings running into thousands of Ghana cedis.
Radio Maxx’s Ebenezer Afanyi Dadzie told Joy News for two weeks, the offices have remained closed.
Frustrated clients besieged the offices of the company on Wednesday only to see a note saying the company’s systems were down and that they had closed for maintenance.
Attempts by clients to reach management of the company have proved futile and all telephone lines have been disconnected, reports Afanyi Dadzie.
A client who allege he has been saving with the micro finance company for four years said he is frustrated and will soon report the matter to the Police.
The company’s mobile bankers, or Susu Collectors are all in shock at the sudden turn of events.
They say the Chief Executive of the company only told them he was traveling for a few weeks. Some of the workers have reported the case to the Police.
Afanyi Dadzie observes the company operates covertly in a secluded area. According to him, the storey building that house the company’s office looks more like a residential building because some people were occupying the top floor.
