President Mills has directed that the Offinso-South Municipal Chief Executive be suspended indefinitely with immediate effect.
This is according a statement issued in Accra and signed by Head of Communications at the Castle, Koku Anyidoho.
Mr. Victor Amponsah, is said to have vacated his position and is currently in the United States of America on holiday.
The Local Government Minister, Joseph Yiele Chireh had asked the Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, Wilson Anima to act in the absence of Mr Amponsah.
Joy News has learnt that the Ashanti Regional Minister, Kofi Opoku-Manu has queried the Offinso-South MCE for leaving the country without following due process as stated by the public sector rules.
