President John Evans Atta Mills has directed the security capos to crack the whip on trouble makers across the country regardless of their political persuasions.
The directive was issued on Thursday after a close-door meeting with the top brass of the country’s security personnel.
Interior Minister, Martin Hamidu, who was part of the meeting, told Joy News the directive was not specifically targeted at irate youth of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who have dominated the headlines for all the wrong reasons.
They have seized public toilets, lorry stations, public offices and have dared to kill public officials with impunity.
Martin Hamidu said the President is worried about the increasing lawlessness, indiscipline and impunity which is rearing its ugly head across the country and implored the police to apply the law accordingly, irrespective of the political, ethnic, and religious affiliations of the culprits.
He said the President made specific reference to clashes in Bunkpurugu Yunyoo, Yendi, Tamale, Tuobodom and Techiman but was equally concerned with the possibility of road accidents during the Easter festivities.
According to him, trouble makers and their conspirators will be dealt with accordingly.
