Chairman for the UK-Ireland Branch of ruling National Democratic Congress Horace Nii Ayi Ankrah says the NDC has done excellent work to be retained in office for another four years.
Nii Ayi Ankrah said the unprecedented developmental projects taking place in the country under the Mill’s administration, is enough for the electorate to give the NDC another four years to complete them.
He said the President has even “gone ahead of schedule” as per the development plan for the country by completing most projects within three years in office. “The current NDC administration is way ahead of the curve.” He stressed.
The UK-Ireland Chairman told Adom News in an interview that, more money is being put in the pockets of the people with the completion of some roads, which has led to a reduction in the amount of time people spend on the roads before getting to their various destinations.
“I use to spend two hours to drive from my house to the Airport but at the moment it takes me ten minutes due to the completion of the N1 motorway. This means I will save money on fuel and have more time to do other things that can earn me some more and that goes for everybody who frequently use the N1 motorway. This is another way of putting money in the pockets of Ghanaians”, Nii Ayi Ankrah stated.
He said there are a number of social interventions that have been achieved by the government “aside the great strides made in our economic performance and foreign relations”.
Commenting on the strained relationship between the Rawlingses and the sitting President, the UK-Ireland Chairman said he has noted the feverish efforts being made to reconcile the two and commended everyone involved for the efforts being made.
“They are both great sons of our party and cherished citizens of our dear nation who love both the party and the nation very much and are aware of their input to move the nation forward, hence the need to reconcile.”
“We in the UK had a prayer session for unity and peace for our party, and we believe that whatever changed must change”, he emphasized.
Meanwhile Nii Ayi Ankrah has commended the Electoral Commission and government for peacefully organizing the ongoing voter registration exercise, stating that his tour of the Greater Accra, Ashanti and part of the Central region indicated that both the Mills administration and the EC have taken the necessary steps to enhance democracy in Ghana.
He however urged the EC to ensure that, in future, Ghanaians in the diaspora are not disenfranchised since the law on Representation of the People, guarantees them voting rights.
