Ghana midfielder Rabiu Mohammed says his move to Russian side Kuban Krasnodar club was not motivated by money but to seek a new challenge. The 23-year-old has been defending his decision to swap the high-profile French Ligue 1 for the Russian Premier League which is ranked 19th in the world by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics. He has signed a three-year contract with FC Kuban in a deal worth 5 million dollars.Just like the famous Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan move from Sunderland in the English premier league to UAE based side Al Ain, Rabiu in an exclusive interview with Joy Sports stated that his decision to switch to Eastern Europe was not all about the money."My move here is about new challenge not about money," Rabiu told Joy Sports."I hear people talk about Russia is not good, they are not good people but I have played in Spain, France and Italy and it is better I move to Russia too and I know what to expect there."It is football and sometimes you just have to take some of these challenges when it comes so it’s my decision and we will see how it goes."
