The Mohinani Group has fully renovated the classroom and administrative block it originally built for the Amanokrom Presby Junior High School in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
The renovation project, which forms part of the Group’s continued commitment to education and community development, included structural refurbishments, new roofing, upgraded windows and doors, and a fresh coat of paint. The administrative block also received much-needed upgrades to enhance functionality and provide a more conducive environment for teaching and learning.
In a statement read on his behalf by the Marketing and Corporate Affairs Manager, Dickson Tetteh, at a brief ceremony to officially hand over the refurbished facilities, the Chairman of the Group, Mr. Ashok Mohinani, emphasized the company’s dedication to impacting lives through sustainable initiatives in the communities where it operates. He further highlighted the Group’s commitment to ensuring that all its infrastructural interventions are well maintained for the benefit of future generations.
“Just like our companies and products, our relationships with our people and communities and the impacts we set out to make are always meant for the long haul, and that is why we revisit from time to time to offer needed support where necessary to ensure this school infrastructure serves its purpose,” he said.
Mr. Ashok stressed that “Mohinani recognizes education as a key pillar for national development. By investing in these school facilities, we are preserving our past efforts and reaffirming our long-term commitment to youth empowerment and social impact.”
School authorities, local chiefs, and community members expressed deep appreciation for the gesture, highlighting how the improved infrastructure will enhance the overall learning experience for students.

The Gyase divisional chief, Nana Osim Kwatia II, who chaired the occasion, commended the Mohinani Group for the lasting relationship it has had with Amanokrom and particularly, the royal family out of which this project sprung. He subsequently challenged the school authorities and the pupils to make good use of the infrastructure, maintain it, and let it be reflected in their academic performance.
“Based on what we have seen today, your infrastructural problem has been significantly solved, and as we’re making an effort to get more furniture for you, we hope this reflects in your academic excellence,” he intimated.
The administrative block and the classrooms built a few decades ago were named after Devi Mohinani, the mother of the late Mr. Ramchand Mohinani, founder of the Mohinani Group, and signify a strong tie between the Mohinani family and the royal house of Amanokrom.
The Group owns notable brands, including Polytanks Ghana, Somotex Ghana, Somochem Ghana, KFC Ghana, and Electromart.
