Five staff members of The Multimedia Group on Tuesday, 2nd September 2025, paid a courtesy call on aYo Insurance, the microinsurance subsidiary of MTN Ghana, at the company’s office in Accra.
The visit was aimed at strengthening ties between the two organisations and familiarising the Multimedia team with the operations of aYo, which provides life and hospital insurance through mobile platforms.
The delegation was led by Joy FM’s Drive Time host Lexis Bill. Other members were Andy Dosty (host of Hitz FM’s Afternoon Ride/The Library on Hitz FM and Joy FM), Asieduwaa Akumia (host of Prime Morning/Let’s Talk on Joy Prime), Kwame Dadzie (host of Showbiz A-Z on Joy FM/Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM) and Oliver Fangnon (Social Media Executive at the Multimedia Group).

The session also featured a presentation by Lexis Bill on The Multimedia Group’s operations and activities as a media conglomerate.

Francis Gota, aYo’s Chief Executive Officer, took the team around the company’s various departments to give them a better appreciation of how the insurer operates.

Also representing aYo Insurance were Chief Financial Officer Solomon Osei, Head of Sales and Distribution, Strategy Executions and Projects, Emmanuel Gyim, and Marketing Officer, Perpetual Quaye.

aYo has made significant impact in Ghana’s insurance industry. In its first five years, the company covered about 8 million Ghanaians, approximately 25 percent of the population, and paid out over GHS 10 million in claims.
By mid-2024, that figure had risen to 8.2 million customers, over GHS 20 million in claims paid, and coverage for more than 47,000 policyholders and beneficiaries. This achievement stands out in a country where insurance penetration remains below 2 percent.
The Multimedia Group, which already maintains a strong business relationship with MTN and aYo, expressed readiness to partner on future projects.
