Fast-rising multi-talented artiste, Josh Blakk says he is excited about taking his music career to the next level.
According to the young artiste-born Joshua Owusu Afriyie, having his songs penetrate the music space outside of Ghana is a boost that he does not take for granted.
In an interview, Josh Blakk said he has been interested in music since he was a boy and developed his talents by teaching himself how to play some musical instruments.
“I was born in Accra, in a strict Christian home. I started learning how to play the piano at the age of seven. I even taught myself to play the guitar, flute, saxophone and soon I was able to compose my own songs.”
This talent won Josh great admiration during talent shows and competitions that he participated in.
His music, which blends Afrobeat, soul, and highlife, gives him a unique advantage over other upcoming artists.
“I refuse to be put in a specific category and I am constantly exploring new sounds. My style embodies spontaneity, and I value each song's unique code.”

He says "Luminis," a project dedicated to his wife, reflects his deep personal connection with his soulmate.
“My wife is my number one fan. She encourages me a lot and I am happy to say I receive enough support from my family too. My songs are all from my heart, I put myself into every music I compose so don’t be surprised if someday, I perform at the Grammys.”
Already, Josh is on his way to breaking barriers and affirming his place in the heart of music lovers. From participating in Vodafone Icons, he is set to represent Ghana in Nigeria's Project Fame music reality show.
“My aim is for my music to transcend boundaries. Currently, I have formed the Waakye Band, known for our blend of high life and soul music.
“The target is to leave an indelible mark in the music industry by introducing new sounds and genres worldwide. This dream is possible and it will definitely happen,” he stressed.
