It was a week in which Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, rumoured to have suffered a debilitating illness, returned from the United Kingdom hail and hearty.
He had been in that country for 12 days on medical leave.
He was met on arrival at the Kotoka International Airport by President Nana Akufo-Addo and some senior government officials.
The Vice president was in the company of his wife Samira.
TDC ejects 0ver 200 tenants
The Tema Development Company (TDC), the owners of Kaiser Flat on Thursday ejected some 200 tenants including children living in flats declared unsafe.
One of the affected persons, Nadia Blankson, a single mother of a two-year-old boy told Myjoyonline that the ejection has put her in a very difficult situation.
President Akufo-Addo Attended 30th AU Summit In Ethiopia
The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, left Ghana on Saturday, 27th January, 2018, to lead the Ghanaian delegation to the 30th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union, held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The meeting of the Heads of State took place from 28th to 29th January, 2018, under the theme, “Winning the Fight against Corruption: A Sustainable path to Africa’s Transformation”.
One Week memorial for the Kwabenya police officer shot and killed by armed men.
A memorial service was held on Sunday for the late Inspector Emmanuel Ashilevi of Kwabenya Police station who was shot dead by armed men who raided the police station to free suspects in cells.
President Akufo-Addo paid tribute to the late Hugh Masekela.
President Nana Akufo-Addo paid a glowing tribute to the late legendary South African Jazz musician, Hugh Masekela.
In a tribute read at the funeral of the star who passed away recently, the President sorrowfully spoke about how he will miss his one-time partying friend.
“…we became firm friends, and looked out for and saw each other at various clubs across the world – New York, London, Paris, Lagos, Abidjan, Lome – wherever we were together, we would meet and party. Nobody partied like Masakela,” he said.
Kwabenya Cop ‘Killers’ Appear In Court
Ten of the twelve suspected criminals arrested in connection with the Kwabenya Police Station raid appeared in court this week.
They pleaded not guilty to the charges leveled against them by the police.
The two others, Prince Osei and Atta Kwadwo pleaded guilty to the charges.

Fire ravages Dome Market
Market stalls, shops and consumables in the Dome Market which runs into several millions of cedis were consumed by fire believed to have begun a few minutes after 7 pm on Wednesday evening.


Another accident claims two lives on Accra-Kumasi this week
Two persons died on the spot while several others were injured in another gory accident on Accra –Kumasi road when a mini bus and a commercial vehicle collided.
Barely a week ago a VVIP collided with an articulated truck which claimed 10 lives and injured many.
