The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is riding a wave of euphoria as its campaign song, Kwen Kwen, by renowned musician and producer Nacee, has claimed the No. 1 spot on Apple Music Ghana.
The song has become the anthem of the party’s campaign, resonating with Ghanaians across the nation as the 2024 presidential election results unfold.
In a dramatic turn of events, Vice President and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has conceded defeat ahead of the Electoral Commission’s (EC) official declaration.
This concession clears the path for NDC flagbearer John Mahama to secure his second term as President of Ghana.
Dr. Bawumia, on Sunday, congratulated Mr. Mahama and called for unity in moving the nation forward.
The atmosphere at the NDC headquarters in Accra has been jubilant, with party supporters celebrating the anticipated victory.
Many attribute the campaign’s success to a strategic focus on grassroots mobilization and the inspirational power of Kwen Kwen, which has captured the aspirations of Ghanaians for change.
Prior to the elections, John Mahama himself commended the artist for his ability to align his songs with the message of his campaign, praising his creativity as second to none.
The Electoral Commission is expected to announce the final results soon, but provisional figures from various polling centers nationwide indicate a decisive win for John Mahama.
The NDC is also projected to gain a majority in Parliament, further solidifying its mandate to govern.
