The National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) has appealed to its workers to upgrade their skills and knowledge in disaster management. The Organization also appealed individuals, organisations and the government to help provide NADMO offices with equipment to facilitate work. The workers have further been advised to intensify education on disaster management across the country.According to the Eastern Regional Coordinator of NADMO, Ranford Owusu Boakye, it had become necessary to undertake such exercise to help avert or reduce disasters. This he said was due to the widely reported disasters being caused by the onset of the rainy season in some parts of the country. He called on stakeholders, especially religious bodies, to use their platforms to educate their members on disaster management and asked the organization to make provision for motivation for disaster volunteer groups.
