Over a Thousand National Service personnel and staff of National Service Scheme on Friday lined-up at the El-Wak Stadium, Accra to donate blood to the National Blood Bank.
The National Service Personnel Association organized the blood donation exercise in response to a call by the National Blood Bank to the general public, to re-stock the National Blood Bank which has dwindled to unacceptable levels in recent times.
The exercise is to be replicated in Tamale and Kumasi to help replenish blood stocks around the country.
In a short address the Executive Director of the National Service Scheme, Mr. Vincent Senam Kuagbenu commended the Service Personnel for their laudable exercise.
Mr. Kuagbenu who also took part in the blood donation exercise, assured them that Government recognizes the critical services they are rendering to the Nation even in the remotest and difficult places in Ghana.
