The National Commission for Civic Education has cautioned the public to be on the look out for fraudsters who would want to swindle them when the re-denomination of the cedi begins.
An official of the NCCE, Mr E.K. Antwi, said such fraudsters will be parading in communities with the view to assist people change their currencies when the exercise takes off in July this year.
He said anyone caught in the act should be arrested and made to face the full rigours of the law.
Speaking at a re-denomination programme organized by the Radiant Life Ministry at Kyekyewere near Obuasi, Mr Antwi said the re-denomination exercise would be carried out at all the banks to avoid any rush.
The programme formed part of activities drawn up by the church to mark its 10th anniversary.
Mr Antwi said vigorous educational campaign had been launched to enable the NCCE to reach out to as many people as possible with the right message on the re-denomination of the cedi.
He appealed to Christian women to develop the culture of saving with the banks so that they could obtain loans to improve their businesses.
