An aspirant in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearership race, Augustus Tanoh, will from Wednesday, October 10, 2018, embark on regional tours to meet with party delegates.
Goosie Tanoh as he is popularly known, will start his campaign tour from the Volta Region through to other parts of the country and finally end in Accra. “The Journey is to engage, in a new and refreshing way, with the NDC membership across Ghana,” he told the media at his campaign office in Accra on Friday.
The experienced politician said his entry into the contest is grounded on four key pillars- Accountable and competent leadership, Grassroots ownership, Mobilisation, winning campaign strategies as well as Organisational capacity building.
Outlining his vision for the country if elected in the December 7, 2018 primaries, Goosie Tanoh explained: “We believe in a Ghana that is able to grow by building its productive sectors particularly in agriculture and industry, by creating opportunity through the provision of education to all its population by providing universal healthcare so that our people are well taken care of...”
“We also believe particularly in the urban areas that we must have some component of social housing that stabilises rent that allows for household income to go as far as possible,” he added.

Goosie Tanoh is one of the over 10 aspirants including former President John Dramani Mahama, who are hoping to become the next flagbearer for the biggest opposition party going into the 2020 elections.
He has recently been working as a consultant and a developer of energy and industrial infrastructure while planning the revival of the agribusiness which he believes has the capacity to transform the countryside on a more democratic basis and define sensible parameters for state investment in rural development.

On August 30, 2018, Goosie Tanoh formally announced his decision to contest the flagbearer post of the NDC when he presented his letter of intent to the party’s General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia.
Ghanaians, he said, have a choice to persist with bad governance or choose him to spark a change.
