Delegates of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Sagnarigu Constituency of the Northern Region have chosen a new parliamentary candidate to represent them in the 2024 general elections.
Majority of the 1, 330 delegates dumped the incumbent MP, A.B.A Fuseini for a newcomer, Attah Issah at the party’s primary on Saturday.
Attah Issah polled 801 of the votes, while A.B.A Fuseini had 330 of the votes.
Other aspirants were Hamzah Abubakar who had 27 votes, Ahmed Yakubu with 120 votes, while Abdul Majid polled 42 votes.
Hon. Alhassan Bashir Alhassan Fuseini, popularly known as A.B.A Fuseini, has been in parliament since 2012.
As a very vociferous member, the 67-year old is known and loved for his lighter side, which is speaking in creative proverbs each time he has the chance to speak on national issues.
Some of the committees he serves on in parliament are the Communications, House and Privileges Committee.
The one-time professional journalist was also at some point a Deputy Northern Regional Minister.
