Mr Bismark Tawiah Boateng, Eastern Regional Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has reminded party supporters that, the just ended Sunyani Congress was not the end and they should therefore not be complacent.
“The real battle is the 2012 General Elections and we must therefore bury our differences, unite and fight the common enemy, our opponents of the other side of the political divide”.
In a statement issued in Koforidua on Monday, Mr Boateng was optimistic that the aftermath of the Congress would exhibit nothing other than unity and friendliness so that they could forge ahead as a team for the common goal of retaining power in 2012.
He expressed his profound gratitude to God for granting them travelling mercies to and from Sunyani and also supervising the electoral process.
“My gratitude also goes to the Eastern Regional delegates for voting massively to endorse Professor John Evans Atta Mills at the Congress, where the NDC emerged as the victor and not loser”.
Mr Boateng expressed gratitude to the Regional Minister, Dr Kwasi Akyem Apea-Kubi, his deputy, Mr Ebenezer Terlabi, the Local Government Minister, Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, the General Secretary, Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia, Mr Yaw Boateng, the national Organizer and the
entire National Executives.
“My special thanks also go to my dynamic Regional Chairman, Mr Julius Debrah, Ministers and Deputy Ministers, Members of Parliament (MPs), Municipal and District Chief Executives from the Region and our financiers, for their wonderful sponsorship and organizational
ability”.
“My sincere thanks also go to the Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, Mr Nyamekye Marfo and his entire party executives in the region”.
He was also grateful to all and sundry for the diverse roles they played in making the congress incident-free and a very successful one.
“I am also grateful to our friends of the Inky Fraternity and the Security personnel for the show of high professionalism in their duties”, the statement concluded.
