The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and founding member of the Ghana Commodity Exchange(GCE), Setutsi Goka Ivowi, has shared her inspiring life story, detailing her remarkable journey and the valuable lessons that have guided her career.
In an exclusive interview on the Joy News AM Show, on Thursday, November 14, Mrs. Ivowi discussed her journey, highlighting her commitment to lifelong learning.
The host, Sweety Aboagye delved into Mrs Ivowi's personal life, uncovering the driving forces behind her success.
According to Mrs Ivowi, when an opportunity was presented to her, she would ask herself whether it was an area she was qualified for and whether she could succeed in it.
She revealed that, one of her previous managers advised her “Never be quick to say no to an opportunity, because you never know—it could be the one that can change or shape your life.”
This advise, according to her, changed her point of view.
"I learned not to say no to opportunities," she said.
She said she took that advice on board and began embracing opportunities.
"Some of the opportunities I have taken on have literally become catalysts and life-changing experiences, both personally and professionally.
"That is one thing I would say has been critical to where I am today and to what I do today—allowing opportunities to be presented and embracing them," she said.
