A special day has been named after teen pop sensation Justin Bieber.
Officials in New York have declared June 19 as Justin Bieber Day and it will be celebrated every year.
The 18-year-old singer attended a record signing event at an electronics store in Manhattan, where he was visited by the Manhattan Borough President Scott M Stringer, reported the New York Post.
Stringer handed the pop star a framed certificate.
"This proclamation is on behalf of the 1.6 million people who live in Manhattan, and it's very exciting to have Bieber here with us... I don't give proclamation unless I believe," the certificate reads.
Thousands of diehard fans, some accompanied by their parents, lined the streets in Manhattan for a chance to meet the Canadian superstar.
