The Ghana Football Association has dispelled media reports stating they have contacted former coach Kwasi Appiah to make a return to the team.
Reports emanated that, the six-member committee tasked to search for a coach had contacted Kwasi Appiah for the job.
Already there have been massive support for Kwasi Appiah to make a return to the team but spokesperson of the GFA Ibrahim Saani Daara insists they have not contacted the former Asante Kotoko coach for the job.
"There is no shred of truth in those reports. The FA has not taken any decision regarding the direction of the Black Stars," he said
"Coaches were asked to apply and several of them have slapped in their CV's. Its now time for the selection committee to do their work.
"They have not even met to deliberate on the names that have come up and so these reports are worrying.
"Names are expected to be thrown out naturally by the media, but its' not true the FA has settled on Kwesi Appiah or any other coach.
"There are several stages in the appointment process and so I will plead with Ghanaian to be patient."
Kwesi Appiah was in charge of Ghana from 2012 to 2014
