Police in the northern region have denied carrying out any operation in Yendi to arrest the Boling La-Na.The youth reportedly foiled an attempt to arrest the regent because the security team failed to provide an arrest warrant. It follows the arrest of more than 40 people last week in connection with the murder of the late king of Dagbon eight years ago.Youth Secretary to the Boling La-Na, Fuseini Zakaria Bawa, said security officials in nine vehicles including armoured cars stormed the palace of the Boling La-Na.According to him, the security officials went away only after several hundreds of people had besieged the palace. But the Northern Regional Police Command has denied knowledge of any operation at the Boling La-Na’s palace.Public Relations Officer, Chief Inspector Ebenezer Tetteh told Joy FM's Super Morning Show on Wednesday that the police only conducted a swoop in Gushegu to arrest suspects in connection with some disturbances in the area.“We did not conduct any operation at Yendi so I don’t know where that particular information is coming from,” he noted.Source: Myjoyonline.com/Ghana
