A Member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Council of Elders George Ayisi Boateng, has called for investigations into a recorded tape attributed to the party's Northern Regional Chairman, Daniel BugriNaabu.
In that tape, Mr Bugri Naabu is alleged to have accused the party's National Chairman, Paul Afoko and General Secretary, Kwabena Agyapong of working against the presidential ambition of flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

The investigations, according to Ayisi Boateng, "is very important because people are fond of putting out false information. it is not the first time that we have heard of tapes being branded about. There are a lot of things that have gone on unchecked or unpunished".
Although Mr. Bugri Naabu has denied knowledge of the tape, which he describes a “calculated attempt to sow seeds of discord between him and the leadership of the party and to tarnish his hard won reputation” Mr. Ayisi Boateng told Joy News the party must bring a proper closure to the matter.
Bugri Naabu also maintains the tape is an attempt by his enemies and people who do not want to see an NPP victory in 2016 to divert attention from the real issues facing the country.
However, Mr Ayisi-Boateng says failure by the party to probe the allegations would embolden people who put out supposed secret tapes "to continue doing these kinds of things".
"It doesn't help mother Ghana. I think this thing should be thoroughly investigated", he said.
