Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will win a majority of votes in as many as 13 of the 16 regions in the race to lead the New Patriotic Party as flagbearer, according to the latest Global Info Analytics Survey.

He also splits 80 percent of the votes in the Oti Region with his closest challenger, businessman and maverick politician, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, who takes the lead in the Ashanti and Central regions.

And apart from the Western region where the two front runners came close again to sharing the votes, (31% for Bawumia and 29% for Agyapong), the Vice President puts some distance between him and his pursuers, including a near clean sweep of votes in the North East region when he garners 90%, with the remaining 10% representing those who have yet to decide who to vote for (6%) or will not disclose their choices (4%).

Not given a dog’s chance in the race, per the survey results, are the other two constants, Dr. Afriyie Akoto and Francis Addai-Nimoh.

Apart from a 3% vote in the Central region gleaned by Addai-Nimoh, the two did not get any votes in all the regions.

The overall verdict of the survey however, is the possibility of a runoff, as none of the contestants could garner the required 50-percent-plus of total valid votes to win a first round victory.

The survey of 4,311 NPP delegates from all 275 constituencies, was conducted between October 2 and 11, and shows Dr. Bawumia leading with 43.5% and Ken Agyapong 23.5% of delegates' backing.

The NPP goes to the polls on Saturday, November 4 to elect a presidential candidate for the 2024 general elections.
