The Member of Parliament (MP) for Asokwa, Mr Maxwell Kofi Jumah, has predicted landslide victory for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in next year's general polls.
He said he was confident Ghanaian voters would punish the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) for bad governance that had worsened their economic situation and fuelling cynicism in the society.
He was addressing a group of drivers at Asokwa who had come together to canvass for votes for Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo, the NPP presidential candidate, at Asokwa in Kumasi.
They go by the name "Nana For 2012."
Mr Jumah said the people were "now sick and tired of empty promises and deception by the Mills administration."
He, however, urged members of the NPP to ensure hard work and accept to make the needed sacrifices to bring the party back to power and restore hope to the country.
Mr Jumah asked them to step up their political education campaign to win more voters as the party prepared to recapture power.
He said they must come together, maintain a solid front and avoid unnecessary distractions.
Mr Jumah said Ghanaians were now yearning for the return of the NPP to continue with its carefully thought out social interventions that brought tremendous relief to them during the eight years of Kufuor's administration.
