Mr Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, the Member of Parliament for Takoradi, has said that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) would be back in power by 2012.
He said the party was putting up strategies and is prepared to work efficiently to win the 2012 election.
Mr Darko-Mensah said this when he visited the Takoradi Central Market to introduce himself as the MP for Takoradi as well as express appreciation to them for voting for him.
He said plans are far advanced to modernize the Takoradi Market to befit the town’s status and expressed the hope that
the new government would implement plans that are on the drawing board for the market.
“I hope all stakeholders will come together to find ways of improving on conditions at the Takoradi Market”, he said.
On the issue of traders who sell at the inner perimeter of the market, he said “it is not right for us to move the market women elsewhere since they are making sales.”
“I believe the assembly would put in strategies to ensure that this problem is solved amicably”, he said.
