Preliminary top winners in the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) 2020 Anglican SHS, Kumasi contestants say they are composed and poised to emerge as winners in this year's contest.
The ballot for the one-eighth stage of the NSMQ is scheduled for Wednesday at 5 pm in the University of Ghana.
Three categories with 8 contests have been scheduled for this stage of the Quiz.
Speaking on Joy FM, contestants for the school said they are under no pressure and are confident to deliver their best the contest draws near.
"One would expect that we would be under much pressure but that's not the case.
"We are cool and we hope that God helps us. And definitely, God will help us," he relayed.
According to teachers and team of Kumasi Anglican SHS, they still consider themselves underdogs and cannot give assurance of their victory.
However, they are praying for the best outcome in the competition.
"I can't give assurance of our victory but we hope. It is a competition so we have to pray for the best," he said.
Schools in "Pot A, B and C" include Presbyterian Boys SHS, St Peter's SHS, St Thomas Aquinas SHS and Kumasi Anglican SHS.
