The Royal Golf Club in Kumasi has received a major financial boost for the rest of the year from the Oak Plaza hotels based in Accra.
The Oak Plaza Hotels have agreed to sponsor the club’s monthly medal for the rest of the year with the first competition being played over the weekend at the Royal Golf Club.
The competition, which has lost its appeal in recent times, attracted over 70 golfers. Organizers attribute the renewed interest and revitalization of the competition to the sponsorship package.
Chief Executive Officer of Oak Plaza Hotels, Heath Dana told Luv Fm’s Delali Atiase that the company has pumped in Fiveteen thousand Ghana Cedis into the competition for the rest of the year.
Mr Heath said the decision to sponsor golf is to reach out to the corporate clients of the company.
He noted “the average golfer is one that will absolutely be staying in a hotel, also knowing that business people who play golf in Kumasi will travel to Accra and will like to stay in our hotels.’’
