Evelyn Joshua

The wife of T. B. Joshua, a famous Nigerian televangelist and founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), has spoken about how she is dealing with the loss of her husband.

Evelyn Joshua took to her Twitter handle to mourn her husband’s death saying, "Losing a loved one is never easy; whether sudden or foreseen, it’s always heartbreaking."

"Grief can wreak havoc on our overall well being. That’s why it’s important to stay rooted to the Almighty. Only He can lessen our heartache and comfort us in these times. Seek refuge in Him."

Mrs Joshua according to a Nigerian online news portal, The Cable, told journalists that her husband had prayed for three hours before the last service on the mountain.

She said her 57-year-old husband born Temitope Balogun Joshua showed no sign of illness.

The controversial pastor died on Saturday, June 5, after one of his evening services.

There were reports that he had suffered a stroke just two months ago and was flown to Turkey to undergo treatment.

The father of three was reported to have been airlifted with an air ambulance from Nigeria to Turkey to receive treatment as his condition was dire.

Reports indicate that the pastor recently returned to Nigeria after treatment.

Mourners gather for synagogue

After the announcement of his passing, thousands of his followers have been gathering at the premises of Synagogue Church awash with expression of shock and surprise.

Describing it as a black and bleak Saturday, some of his church members mourned and prayed for miracles to bring the pastor back to life.

“Who is going to help us, who is going to help the widows. T.B. Joshua don’t go, come back.”

According to one of his followers, the preacher, prior to his demise, kept encouraging them to watch and pray. For him, he believes the preacher man foresaw his death.
