Ghana youth international Daniel Opare is set for three months on the sidelines after fracturing a fifth metatarsal of his left foot on Wednesday, training with Real Madrid's senior team.
Early diagnosis by the Real Madrid medical team ruled him out for an estimated time of ten weeks.
Opare was one of four players invited by head coach Juande Ramos from the youth team to aid their faltering La Liga campaign.
The 18-year-old is said to have impressed at the training ground and was likely to earn a substitute role for match against Valencia.
He suffered similar injury early this year in Dubai during the Black Stars pre-Nations Cup training.
Opare said:" It was left with five minutes to end I started feeling the pains in my foot. At a time things were moving fast for me, this has happened"
" I had a lot of thumbs up from Casillas and Sergio Ramos and I felt was going to be part of the them but God knows why.
" I think I have to take my time and recover fully, there's more time ahead for me."
Opare has been automatically ruled out of next year's Africa Youth Championship in Rwanda which begins in January.
