As part of their plans to ensure a peaceful, healthy and food secured Africa, Organization of African Development (OAD) is collaborating with the Ministries of Youth and Sports, Health, Food and Agriculture, traditional authorities, the United Nations, Right to Play and the Diplomatic Corps on the next phase of the boots for food initiative dubbed OAD Community Care Peace Project (OAD-CCPP).
The project is aimed at creating healthy communities in Ghana with particular interest in peace, stability, food security and eradication of poverty through sports.
To successfully execute this project, OAD will send experts from key institutions to the entire nation to provide various support schemes and also use its medium to sensitize communities about peace, unity and educate farmers to increase their yield and also reduce the state of malnutrition.
In preparation for the Community Care Project, meetings have been arranged with various administrative sectors all over the nation and the power structures of various communities to ensure the smooth running of the event.
Initiator of the project and Philanthropic businessman Bonaventure Castro Aguissi is confident that this initiative would be a groundbreaking one that would harmonize all and sundry in making sure that the programme positively affects the nation and beyond.
“It is unfortunate that a rich continent like Africa is economically the poorest. We have been troubled by unnecessary civil strifes, wars and political butchery with the masses feeling the brunt of all this unfortunate actions.
It is about time we have to stand up and be counted and raise the level of awareness of the ordinary folks and put some smiles on their faces. Money cannot even pay for the kind of smile my organization wants to put on their faces.”
He urged Ghanaians of all spheres to support the project for it to make a lasting impact on the nation.
