Gender Minister Afisa Otiko Djaba has embarked on a new campaign in which she wants men to help women attain their topmost ambitions.
The 'He For She' campaign she said is to let men in Ghanaian society know that women are equal partners in whatever endeavour they undertake.
Speaking to Joy News' Mamavi Aboagye about the new campaign, she said this is a break from the societal norm where women are always walking behind men but rather both men and women should walk side by side as ordained by God.
Gender Minister, Otiko Afisa Djaba
"We have to be partners in life but because our men have forgotten about the role mothers plays in their lives, we are going to get them to be the 'He For She' ambassadors," she said.
She said the former National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Akwatia would lead the campaign saying he is her brother and she expects him to help her make the initiative a success.
It is believed that Mr Jamal who was also the Deputy Minister for Employment & Labour Relations is the one fueling such ridicule considering how the two slugged it out during the campaign.
The first time MP who beat Baba Jamal in the December 2016 parliamentary election was ridiculed earlier this year after making a statement on the floor of parliament.
"I don't want Akwatia and other people to think that he is the one leading the Mercy Ama Sey ridicule in the media and all over the place," she added.

Mercy Ama Sey
Mr Jamal polled 15,905 votes while Ama Sey whom he described as a hairdresser garnered 21,433 of the total valid votes cast.
But the Gender Minister believes once he bears the title of "an Honourable" for being a former MP; he would make a good ambassador to push the campaign.
"Also, as an indigene of Akwatia, it is in his interest for Ama to flow and look good," she added.
