Scores of angry applicants of the US Diversity Visa lottery who have been denied visas are accusing embassy officials in Accra of unfair treatment. The applicants, who were selected by the programme after a rigorous screening process, say they satisfied all the requirements and were assured they would be given visas. The over 30 applicants stormed the offices of Joy FM after they were handed circulars they were no longer eligible for the visas. They claim officials at the US embassy did not provide any explanations for their decision. But the US Embassy says the concerns have not come to its attention. Information Officer at the Embassy, Ben East told Joy News, the aggrieved applicants should address their concerns on individual basis. He said the Embassy issued more than 2,400 visas for 2010 and that with this figure, it was difficult to speak to specific cases. Source: Joy News/Ghana
