Ghana's ambassador to the United Kingdom and Ireland, Papa Owusu-Ankomah, last Friday presented his Letters of Credence to the Republic of Ireland.
The Letters were received by Michael Daniel Higgins, President of the Republic of Ireland at an impressive ceremony held at Áras an Uachtaráin, Dublin, the official residence and principal workplace of the Irish President.
President Michael Daniel Higgins congratulated and welcomed Mr Owusu-Ankomah and assured him of the necessary support in his efforts to expand Ireland -- Ghana bilateral relations.

The former Sekondi legislator conveyed President Nana Akufo-Addo's best wishes while acknowledging the cordial relations between Ghana and Ireland.
He assured the President of his resolve to work towards strengthening political and economic cooperation between the two countries.
The Ambassador also invited Irish businesses and companies to take advantage of the conducive business environment and political stability to invest in Ghana.

Mr Owusu-Ankomah particularly mentioned areas of banking and fund management, Agro-food processing, ICT, Aqua-culture development, Tourism, and Energy which are doing very well.
The former Sports Minister also acknowledged the role that Ireland had played in the religious and educational sectors of Ghana through the Catholic Church.
He was accompanied by Augustina Owusu-Ankomah, ambassador’s Spouse and Matilda Aku Alomatu Osei-Agyeman, Head of Chancery.
