Ghana's Joshua Clottey failed in his bid to win the WBO welter weight bout after he lost by a unanimous decision to Manny Pacquiao early Sunday.
The judges scored the bout 120-108, 119-109, 119-109 all in favour of the Philipine who was devastating all night.
Pacquiao ended the bout pretty much the way he started with his fast pace blistering punches that kept Clottey on the defensive throughout the bout.
The Ghanaian did not look hungry enough for the title and looked more happy to avoid an embarrasing knockout. He was laid back taking the punches and tried once-in-a-while to break his opponent down.
Pacqiao nearly turned Joshua into an assistant and dazzled him with tumultuosly ferocious punches, but the Ghanaian was resolute.
The bout was in a friendly atmoshere without rage as both boxers apologised for low punches and accidental head clashes.
Pacquiao improved his fight record to 51 victories and added the Ghanaian to his list of victims.
He looks forward for a clash against Shane Mosley in an interview after the bout. The Ghanian however apologised to Ghanaians for "disappointing" them.
He promised to make a big return and he is ready to fight "anybody"
