Ghana defender John Paintsil is thrilled after he was told he is still eligible for the rest of Fulham's Europe League campaign.
The right back had feared his four months injury absence had left to his registration for the competition being revoked but he was told by the club on Wednesday he can still play and is in line for an appearance on Thursday night against Hamburg in the second leg.
"It is an understatement to say I am delighted," he told KickOffGhana.com.
"To get to play in the semi final of an European cup competition will be even more special. I just hope whatever happens; Fulham qualifies for the final of the competition."
Paintsil was out for four months with a knee injury but has returned just in the nick of time. He made his return last Sunday which leaves him with plenty of time to play a major part in Fulham's close season games and get himself into the right shape for Ghana's World Cup campaign.
